Crochet Starfish 3D Granny Square
MATERIALS
5-ply milk cotton, color blue, orange and dark-orange. In this tutorial I use orange and dark-orange for the starfish, and blue for the base (granny square).
4.5mm crochet hook
Tapestry needle
Stitch markers 4 pcs

STARFISH PATTERN
Use orange yarn.
In a MR, ch3, 19dc. Join with sl st [total 20 sts].
R2: (working in front-loop only) (ch6, sc in the 2nd loop from hook, hdc, hdc, dc, dc, skip 3 space, sl st in next space) repeat 5x.
Cut the yarn and use tapestry needle to make invisible join. Secure the yarn.
On the back, divide the 20 stitches into 4 sections, placing a stitch marker every 5 stitches.
BASE PATTERN (SOLID GRANNY SQUARE)
Attach blue yarn, start from one of the stitch mark, working in back-loop only.
R1: (ch3, dc, ch2, 2dc) in the same st, dc in next 4 st. (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in the same st, 4dc} x3, join with sl st.
For the next round, work through BOTH loops.
R2: ch3, dc, {(2dc, ch2, 2dc) in the corner space, dc in next 8 st} x3, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in the corner space, dc in next 6 st, join with sl st.
R3: ch3, dc in next 3 st, {(2dc, ch2, 2dc) in the corner space, dc in next 12 st} x3, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in the corner space, dc in next 8 st.
Cut the yarn and use tapestry needle to make invisible join.
Use dark-orange yarn to outline the starfish.
